In a small town it is easy to spot an “out-of-towner” very quickly; today was no exception. Even without the semi-matching shirts the young men from Cincinnati were obviously out of their comfort zone in rural southern Ohio, says a reporter for Yahoo! News. I noticed the men standing on every street corner between here and the SuperValu grocery store–approaching local folks, clipboard in hand. The clean-cut guys barely gave shoppers or those walking on the sidewalk a chance to completely exit a door before there were cornered. I figured a survey of some sort, but I was wrong. Paid signature gatherers were sent here from Cincinnati by a lobbying group to gather the names of registered voters in opposition of Ohio House Bill 194. Sony, Toshiba, Hitachi join forces in displays
The display businesses of three major Japanese electronics makers are joining forces to become more competitive in small and medium-sized panels—a sector that’s expected to grow because of the popularity of smartphones and tablets, the Associated Press reports.
