The NYC Data Science Academy announced a new online education program called Remote Data Science Bootcamp. The full or part-time program offers a complete and comprehensive data science curriculum, interaction with peers and faculty, and job placement assistance for students anywhere in the world with an internet connection who wants to become a data scientist. Destiny Solutions has launched Destiny One Dashboards, powered by Tableau. Colleges and universities using the Destiny One software application to manage their students and programs now have access to many engaging and powerful data visualizations that will allow them to see trends and operate their school’s business with data-driven intelligence. The technology behind self-driving cars is coming to life soon at Florida Polytechnic University. A brand new course called “Autonomous Systems and Self-Driving Vehicles” starts in the Spring 2017 semester. The course breaks students into groups of five to upgrade a small race car. They’ll start with learning basic motion control, then advance to object detection. Read more.

University of South Florida and Revature, a technology talent development company, announced a strategic partnership to provide a breakthrough online coding program to all USF System students and alumni, as well as the opportunity to attend the company’s immersive coding bootcamp, at no cost to individuals or the university. According to the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center’s Signature Report, Completing College: A National View of Student Attainment Rates – Fall 2010 Cohort, recent declines in the overall national six-year completion rates have ended. Read more.

Motivis Learning announced its new 2017 Aspiring Educator Scholarship Initiative, aimed towards students enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program in education. In January 2017, the company will award one $10,000 scholarship to a student who tells Motivis Learning how they will make a difference through teaching.
