Efforts grow to increase data scientists

Partnerships focus on attracting students to burgeoning data fields

data-scienceA new partnership is focusing on the next generation of data scientists in an effort to attract more students to the growing profession.

Dataiku, the software developer behind Data Science Studio (DSS), an all-in-one platform that lets users convert raw data into actionable business predictions, will partner with the NYC Data Science Academy.

The institution has started to use the DSS software to teach one of its courses. Dataiku scientists will also be performing several guest lectures to help train the next generation of data scientists.

“The partnership with Dataiku is very exciting to us,” says Vivian Zhang, founder and CTO of NYC Data Science Academy. “We have always focused on our students developing strong technical skills. The trend though is for data scientists to also be skilled in the impactful interpretation of findings using automated analytics and machine learning toolkits.”

During its 12-week full-time Data Science Bootcamp, students analyze an immense amount of data. Dataiku’s DSS will now be used to enhance the experience. Dataiku expert scientists will be on hand to guest lecture courses and help guide projects for students.

This initiative complements Dataiku’s vision of a world where all businesses, whatever industry or size, can produce their own informed strategies by converting raw data into business impacting forecasts.

“We’re very excited about this partnership. It’s another great step towards bringing the efficient practice of advanced analytics techniques to aspiring data scientists. We expect that their feedback will be invaluable as we continue to develop the best possible platform,” the company said in a statement.
