Bretford® Expands EXPLORE® Series to Include Tablet Chair for Collaborative and Individual Workspaces

Creates a Space-Saving, Versatile Workspace; Ideal For Both Group and Individualized Learning; Available for Order Now

CHICAGO — March 6, 2014 — Bretford Manufacturing, Inc.®, a U.S. manufacturer of technology-enabled furniture for learning and business environments, has expanded its popular EXPLORE Series of seating products to include a tablet chair. The EXPLORE Chair with Tablet Arm creates a compact, highly versatile work space that easily adapts to everything from small group collaboration to large discussion forums to private, individual work and testing spaces. Created for classroom applications and open spaces in libraries and student commons for K-12 through higher education, the EXPLORE tablet chairs are available for order now and will begin shipping later this month.

“Learning environments may vary greatly so we saw the need for a simple, versatile chair to support basically any learning space, regardless of whether the layout is large or small, open or closed, collaborative or independent,” said Dave Smith, product manager for Bretford Manufacturing, Inc. “The EXPLORE Chair with Tablet Arm provides a work and writing space built right into the chair. Due to its compact nature, it is great for smaller spaces where tables and chairs could take up too much room or where higher volumes of students need to be accommodated.”

The Bretford EXPLORE Chair with Tablet Arm can be built to fit the style of the learning space where it is used. It is available with casters or glides depending on how much it will be moved, and can be built with a tablet on either side to accommodate left- and right-handed students. At the same time, the new tablet chair comes in four seat and back color options and with any of Bretford’s paint finishes to help create vibrant or calming spaces for students to work.
In addition, the new tablet chair features an extremely durable design with the ability to stand years of constant use. It has been tested to meet or exceed ANSI BIFMA X5.1 2011 standards for office chairs while the tablet arm components meet or exceed ANSI BIFMA X6.1 2012 standards for educational seating.
