Herzing University Launches Innovative Dual Enrollment Program Enabling Students to Earn Bachelor’s and MBA in Less Than Four Years

MILWAUKEE (April 12, 2012) – Herzing University announced today that it is offering a new Dual Enrollment program that will allow students to take courses that apply to both their Bachelor of Science degree and their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree concurrently, earning both degrees in less than four years. The program allows students in their senior year to save time and money by exchanging four business or open elective courses for four MBA courses that count toward both degrees.

“Students can now advance their careers and reach their education goals faster,” said Renée Herzing, president of Herzing University. “Our new Dual Enrollment program is the latest innovation in our long history of helping students to access higher education in ways that make sense for their lifestyles and their career aspirations.”

This accelerated program is designed for:
– Highly motivated students who are able to maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and a more demanding schedule.
– Students enrolled to earn Bachelor of Science degrees in:
o Accounting
o Business Management
o Criminal Justice
o Graphic Design
o Health Information Management
o Healthcare Management
o Homeland Security and Public Safety
o Information Technology
o Legal Studies
o Software Development
o Technology Management

In addition to the general MBA program that can be completed with one of the eligible Bachelor of Science programs in less than four years, Herzing University offers MBA programs in seven areas of specialization that are eligible for the Dual Enrollment program, but require a bit longer for completion due to the additional specialization courses that are required. The specialized MBA programs include: Accounting, Business Management, Healthcare Management, Human Resources, Marketing, Project Management and Technology Management.

The Dual Enrollment MBA program is offered at all 12 Herzing University locations across the United States as well as Herzing University Online.

Herzing is well-known for its career-focused, flexible curriculum that allows students to blend on-campus and online classes to fit their schedule. In addition, Herzing University’s online MBA programs recently ranked tenth in the US News & World Report education survey of online graduate business programs for its faculty credentials and training.

“Most graduate students are working adults who are also balancing family responsibilities, and our flexible scheduling and online courses make it much easier for them to complete their degrees in as little time as possible,” said Dr. Todd Rickel, campus president of Herzing University Online.

Students who complete their bachelor’s degrees at Herzing University may be exempt from taking the MBA prerequisite course, MBA 500 Business Fundamentals. In addition, alumni receive a 15 percent tuition scholarship on their master’s degree courses as an added incentive to continue their education.

Bachelor’s degree Dual Enrollment students receive their first graduate classes at the undergraduate rate. Dual Enrollment in the graduate courses is limited and based on application acceptance.
