A Lake Michigan College student targeted for expulsion last year for being a registered sex offender has successfully appealed his case and will be allowed to stay on campus, The Herald Palladium reports. One other expelled student was reinstated last year. The American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan, which represented the unidentified student, announced that a settlement with the college was reached Tuesday. The student has been attending classes, pending appeal, since the beginning of the year. LMC President Robert Harrison confirmed that the case had been reviewed in December under a policy adopted by the college a year ago.
