Offering telehealth services can help colleges and universities meet an ever-growing student population in need of mental health services

With 39 percent of college and university students reporting moderate to mild depression last fall, according to the Healthy Minds Study of more than 32,000 higher-ed students, campus mental health services are more critical than ever--and telehealth can meet that growing need.

Student mental health was a concern before the COVID-19 pandemic, but ever since March 2020, it was been a top priority. According to a survey from Active Minds, a nonprofit supporting mental health awareness and education for young adults, 89 percent of college students said COVID-19 has caused them stress or anxiety, 78 percent felt loneliness or isolation, and almost half (48 percent) have experienced a setback in finances.
