2014 marked many achievements for the online proctoring service including being named to the Inc. 500 and increased international presence
HOOVER, Ala. (Dec. 3, 2014) – When Zymezia Rivers came in to work at the proctor center in Hoover, Alabama on Oct. 13, she became part of a ProctorU milestone. That day, Rivers proctored the company’s millionth exam for Troy University.
ProctorU provides live student identity management and proctoring services for higher education, helping ensure the academic integrity of not only colleges and universities, but also that of their students. Since its founding in 2008, the company has experienced rapid growth. In 2011, ProctorU had less than two-dozen employees, two offices and around 30 partner institutions. Today, the company has nearly 500 employees, four office locations in three states and partners with more than 500 institutions.
“Our goal has always been to help institutions adapt to the evolving education landscape by offering top-quality services that enable our college and university partners to use online student verification to confirm that they are indeed interacting with same student at every step of their education experience.,” said ProctorU Executive Vice President Jarrod Morgan. “We believe this is a unique value to which we attribute our rapid growth.”
Earlier this year, Inc. Magazine ranked ProctorU No. 183 in their 32nd annual Inc. 500, a listing of the top 500 fastest growing private companies in America. Inc. Magazine also ranked ProctorU as the fourth fastest growing company in the education sector.
As ProctorU plans for future growth, expanding their international presence is a natural next step. While ProctorU has previously worked on international projects, the popularity of distance learning and massive open online courses (MOOCs) in Europe have tremendous potential for online proctoring and student identity authentication.
“Technology and innovation is changing testing in the 21st Century around the world. Schools everywhere need ways to maintain quality, standards and a consistent experience,” said ProctorU President Don Kassner. “To meet this need, ProctorU uses an approach rooted in a combination of real people, technology and industry standards.”
About ProctorU
ProctorU provides live student identity management and proctoring services for higher education that allow institutions to securely identify and test students anywhere. As an extension of the institution, ProctorU helps ensure the academic integrity of not only colleges and universities, but also that of their students. Proctors do this through a proprietary, multi-step process to authenticate a student’s identity through a variety of methods and multiple checkpoints for identity verification. Founded in 2008, ProctorU has administered one million exams for test-takers in 75 countries and works with more than 500 institutions. The company has four offices across the U.S. and employs more than 400 people.
