Empowering Educators with Science of Reading Expertise

Educators often lack adequate training in the science of reading, posing challenges for students – especially those with dyslexia and other reading difficulties. Through a collaboration with the Eastern Oregon University Reading Clinic and PCG, schools across Oregon have significantly improved literacy outcomes by empowering educators with a deep knowledge of the science of reading and a robust toolkit of evidence-based instructional practices.

Ronda C. Fritz, Ph.D. Associate Professor and Executive Director, EOU Reading Clinic, Eastern Oregon University
Dr. Ronda Fritz is an Associate Professor of Education at Eastern Oregon University. She is also the founder and executive director of the Eastern Oregon University Reading Clinic. She has worked in education for 32 years in various positions including elementary and middle school classroom teaching and as a reading specialist. She earned her Ph.D. in Special Education, studying prevention and intervention of reading difficulties, as well as teacher preparation. She is now committed to ensuring that pre-service and in-service teachers receive the training and support they need to be master teachers of literacy.

Robert Frantum-Allen, MA, C-SLCT is a distinguished leader with deep expertise in literacy, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, and Leadership. With over 33 years in education, including as Director of Special Education for Denver Public Schools, Robert has championed the science of reading, promoting evidence-based literacy practices. He continues to teach at the University of Denver and consults nationally on literacy development and education.
