Staging the Best Network Defense for your Campus

Moderated by Kevin Hogan, eCampus News, Content Director

Even before the COVID pandemic upended the higher education system (and everything else), the threat of cyber attacks against colleges and universities was great. Unfortunately, the danger has only grown. A recent survey by the cybersecurity firm, Sophos, reported that nearly half of all education institutions globally were targeted by ransomware in 2020, with 58% of those saying that cybercriminals succeeded in accessing their data.

While the problem can seem overwhelming, there are strategies to keep campuses as safe as possible from hacks. Join, editor-at-large, Kevin Hogan in a discussion with fellow IT executives and cyber security experts as they break down the latest and greatest techniques and protocols available for institutions of higher learning to protect their networks.

Threats to be discussed include:

  • Cloud security
  • Denial of Service (DoS)
  • Malware
  • Phishing
  • Unsecure personal devices
