Annual report highlights the IT challenges that campus tech leaders will face in 2015

campus-ITThe top IT issues facing higher education in 2015, as outlined in EDUCAUSE’s annual report, include retaining qualified staff, developing funding models, and supporting users in a variety of environments.

Technology is becoming more important as campus leaders try to support business operations and improve student outcomes, according to the annual list of IT issues from higher-ed technology association EDUCAUSE. A panel of IT and non-IT leaders, CIOs, and faculty develop a list of top IT issues, and the EDUCAUSE community votes on the top 10.

Of note is experts’ feeling that higher-ed IT is an an “inflection point”–namely, “the point at which the trends that have dominated thought leadership and have motivated early adopters are now cascading into the mainstream.”
