Atlanta, GA – 14th October 2014 – Educational software specialist NetSupport announces the immediate availability of NetSupport Notify version 3 – the latest update to its desktop alerting and notification software solution.
NetSupport Notify provides school leaders, teachers, administrative staff or technicians with a cost-effective and secure means of delivering general news, IT announcements or critical security alerts direct to staff and student desktops.
From PC, tablet or Smartphone, send concise, attention-grabbing alerts that take screen focus on recipient desktops ensuring messages are seen instantly and are not reliant on users accessing them whenever they choose, as with email or school intranets. Acknowledging the growing use of large information screens in schools, messages can also be sent to unattended digital displays.
Each message carries an appropriate priority status, can be fully branded with a school’s colors and logo and, to really bring the delivered message to the recipient’s attention, a supporting audible alert can be included. Add to the message by including clickable links, schedule recurring announcements for fixed times and dates and keep a record of all messages sent, received and acknowledged.
Selected highlights in version 3 include: extended mobile capabilities with a new Android Notification Console adding to the already available iOS version; adding to the existing Windows, Mac and Linux desktop support, version 3 provides full delivery support for Windows 8/8.1; the ability to send full screen messages with an appropriate timeout – ideal for unattended information panels; and a new hotkey emergency response option for use in critical situations.
As NetSupport’s Development Director Rob Hawkins explains, version 3 further extends the product’s appeal as an emergency notification tool: “Responding to feedback from our education customers, we were particularly keen to extend NetSupport Notify’s capabilities in time-critical situations when typing a lengthy message is out of the question. Security alerts or teachers needing urgent assistance with a disruptive student – the new hotkey emergency response feature is sure to provide many benefits to the faculty.”
