Symplicity Announces Accommodate 2013 Fall Update

ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 1, 2013 – Symplicity today released the fall update of Accommodate, a cloud-based accommodations and disability services management solution designed for college and university offices that are devoted to maintaining a fully accessible campus.

Among the major new features of the update are the new Test Room visibility changes, which allows staff to set test room availability based on disability and/or accommodation, rather than just major and class level. The new feature enables Accommodate manager users to better serve their student and faculty populations, as they may now assign rooms with a more specified approach.

Symplicity also revamped the Note-Taker Network module. Based on system settings and user rights, students are now able to choose to follow one or multiple note-takers for multiple courses, giving them access to all uploaded notes corresponding with each applicable course. Staff can also assign students to particular note-takers, and activate or deactivate note-takers within the manager interface. An external drop box for students makes note drop-offs quick and simple.

Also included in the major fall update is an improved faculty integration experience. Faculty may now enter their own exam information for student and manager users to view. They can also upload any exams into the system to give manager users access to materials before test time.

Staff are able to view accommodations for students that are enrolled in their courses, and communicate via email when logged into the system. When completing progress reports, faculty may add positive feedback to areas of concern, giving students consistent feedback and encouragement when applicable.

“Our Accommodate clients are deeply committed to providing a fully accessible campus for their students,” said Ariel Friedler, president of Symplicity. “We’re pleased to collaborate with them in an important effort to support full and equal participation of individuals with disabilities in higher education.”

Fully accessible by all students, faculty, and staff, Accommodate is Section 508 and ADA compliant.

Symplicity offers Accommodate to accessibility services offices of various levels of size and budget. For more information about Accommodate, or to schedule an online demonstration, please contact our Sales team or visit http://symplicity.com/accommodate.
