No one organization, government agency, non-profit or institution can “fix” the unemployment crisis, Forbes reports. Governments around the world can help foster green and sustainable job opportunities by offering tax incentives and grants to organizations and industries that hire and train youth. We need to push technology in our schools and universities. The focus needs to be on engaging youth in STEM careers by promoting dynamic and engaging hands-on STEM education. Service-learning needs to be fully integrated into our schools to enhance classroom learning and foster and develop global citizens. Service-learning allows youth to grasp and understand critical global issues and concerns. Giving youth the tools to solve challenges and problems in the world, empowers kids and helps them gain valuable and transferable job skills.
