Students have rushed to sign up to a basic course in Linux computer software being offered by US MOOC provider edX, reports the Financial Review. The Linux Foundation, which provides the course and which is now an edX partner, said 40,000 students had registered in four days.
The course, which usually costs $2,500, is free, although there is a small cost for a verified certificate of achievement in the course. The course will begin in the third quarter this year.
