UW regents OK sweeping changes


The University of Wisconsin regents agreed Thursday to shift certain powers from the UW System to its 26 campuses, a move made necessary by budget cuts and staff layoffs, greenbaypressgazette.com reports. The Board of Regents passed a pair of proposals by unanimous voice vote. The first allowed the campuses to take on some of the oversight authority currently provided by the UW System.
