Georgetown University brings Hoyas together using Google Apps for Education

Moderated by Kevin Hogan, eCampus News, Content Director

In this webinar, you’ll hear directly from Lisa Davis, VP for Information Services and CIO,  and Beth Ann Bergsmark, Associate VP and Chief Enterprise Architect at Georgetown University. Georgetown University has a 225 year history of fostering an environment that supports ongoing innovation, open dialogue and intellectual inquiry in their teaching, learning and research. 2 years ago, they kicked off a five-year technology transformation strategy by moving their 20,000 students, staff and faculty members to Google Apps.

Hear from Georgetown about how they managed to save $120,000 per year and create a connected learning environment that bridges the traditional and online classrooms. Professors hold office hours on Google Hangouts, classmates frequently collaborate on group projects with Google Drive, and busy students work better together on extracurricular projects using Google Calendar, Forms, Sheets and Docs. Moving to Google Apps was an opportunity to pull their disparate IT systems into a unified suite and transform into a truly cloud-first organization to provide anytime, any device collaboration and access for a seamless Georgetown experience, anywhere.
