Arlington, Va. (Nov. 13, 2014) – In today’s fast-paced, high-tech world, students are looking for classes that keep them engaged and informed. The EDvantage, a free online resource hub for educators, brings instruction to life with the release of its new online video showcasing tips professors can use to ignite energy in their classrooms this year.
The free video offers five tips to encourage discussion and engage students including using memorable stories and kick starting critical thinking skills.
The tips, crowd-sourced from The EDvantage editorial board, recommends that educators use popular culture and visuals, such as infographics or comic strips, to emphasize key ideas. Curated educational resources featured on The EDvantage’s website are also highlighted in the video.
“Instructors often face the challenge of teaching the same content semester after semester, year after year,” said Josh Owens, director of The EDvantage. “The planning tips covered in this video help instructors revitalize their lesson plans with a variety of engaging resources, without the hassle of finding them through Google or YouTube.”
