Venture Highway Adds Art of Finance to Online Curriculum

I wanted to let you know that Venture Highway has added a new course to its learning platform designed for creative entrepreneurs who may not be formally trained in financial and accounting practices.

The course is The Art of Finance, which focuses on accounting and finance and builds upon Venture Highway’s Foundations of Entrepreneurship coursework.

Kevin Gadd believes this is a critical skill set every entrepreneur needs to be successful regardless of entrepreneurial strengths or interests.

The curriculum was developed by Elaine Grogan Luttrull, a Certified Public Accountant and the founder of Minerva Financial Arts who has taught the coursework at Columbus College of Art & Design and The Ohio State University. She specializes in teaching art-focused students the importance of sound financial practices for their entrepreneurial and artistic endeavors. Many of the same topics are covered in her forthcoming book, ARTS & NUMBERS: A Financial Guide for Artists, Writers, Performers, and Other Members of the Creative Class.

Both Kevin and Elaine are available to talk further about the new course if you’re interested. See below for more details!

Venture Highway Adds Art of Finance to Online Curriculum
Course offering designed to make accounting, financial concepts more accessible to individuals who lack a finance or business school background

COLUMBUS, Ohio (May 14, 2013)—Venture Highway has added a new course to its Integrated Learning Platform designed to bolster financial understanding among a growing creative class of entrepreneurs who may not be formally trained in financial and accounting practices.

The Art of Finance is the first specialty class offered by Venture Highway that dives deeper in specific subject matter for aspiring entrepreneurs. The accounting and finance material builds upon content introduced in Venture Highway’s Foundations of Entrepreneurship coursework.

“The Art of Finance is the logical next offering in our growing catalogue,” said Kevin Gadd, founder and CEO of Venture Highway. “This is a critical skill set every entrepreneur needs to be successful, regardless of entrepreneurial strengths or interests.”

Many of the same topics are covered in her forthcoming book, ARTS & NUMBERS: A Financial Guide for Artists, Writers, Performers, and Other Members of the Creative Class (Agate B2, 2013).

“There are individuals who haven’t been exposed to or purposely avoided finance and accounting classes as part of their schooling,” Gadd said. “Elaine has a great way of presenting concepts in terms that take the fear out of the subject and make it accessible and understandable.”
With the addition of the Art of Finance, Venture Highway’s platform further enables schools to add classes in entrepreneurship or customize an entrepreneurship minor to meet growing student interest.
