Ellucian Solutions Will Help Centenary College ‘Work Smarter’ in Support of Student Success and Improved Institutional Performance

FAIRFAX, Va. – January 27, 2014 – Centenary College is implementing a broad suite of solutions from Ellucian® to help make administrative processes more efficient while providing increased access, flexibility, and functionality to enhance the institution’s student-centered learning environment.

The college’s new digital campus will be built on Colleague® by Ellucian, an integrated administrative suite that will automate many critical business processes and help make administrative processes at Centenary College more efficient. Colleague will replace a patchwork of stand-alone databases and applications that currently require users to perform manual processes, heavy IT support, and hinder access to and sharing of information. Users will have easy access to the information and resources in Colleague through familiar interfaces within the Ellucian Portal and Ellucian Mobile solutions.

“Colleague will allow staff throughout the college to work smarter, not harder, in support of our students,” said Chris Strube, CIO and director of IT at Centenary College. “The integrated environment and self-service features will make resources and information more accessible to everyone, more easily. The selection committee overwhelming chose Ellucian because they offered the most complete product.”

In addition, Colleague Reporting and Operational Analytics will give staff and administrators the tools they need to support institutional performance and accountability initiatives at the college. “Users and executives will be empowered to access the data and reports they need for decision making,” said Strube. “IT will be freed up from providing reports and can spend more time on other projects that are important to the college.”

Centenary College also licensed the Ektron Web Content Management System and Ellucian Recruiter™.

“Centenary College understands the critical need for access to data and resources, but they’ve been hampered by their software,” said Paul Cunningham, senior vice president of customer relationships at Ellucian. “We are pleased to give them the integrated environment they need to make processes more efficient, student services more accessible, and data more useful.”
