Citi and e-Cycle Team Up to Benefit Charitable Organizations Through Wireless Recycling

Citi donates $63,175 to groups fighting world hunger, providing healthcare for homeless families, and lending aid to wounded heroes

e-Cycle wireless recycling, in partnership with Citi®, is pleased to announce the donation of $63,175 to three outstanding organizations through the e-Cycle Foundation. The charities include The Hunger Project, Wounded Warrior Project® and The Floating Hospital. Established by e-Cycle LLC, a leading wireless buyback and recycling company, the e-Cycle Foundation provides a way for both businesses and individuals to make an impact in their local and global communities through revenues gained from recycling their reusable wireless devices.

“We are pleased to play a part in contributing much-needed funds to organizations focused on such worthy causes,” said Irene Blake, wireless campaign coordinator for Citibank. “Our partnership with e-Cycle resulted in our most successful wireless recycling campaign to date. We look forward to continuing the relationship as we expand our corporate caring and sustainability initiatives through our wireless recycling initiatives.”

Working in partnership with grassroots communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America, The Hunger Project develops bottom-up strategies to promote self-reliance and empower people around the world to end their own hunger and poverty. The organization received $25,000 to assist in those efforts.

Wounded Warrior Project also received $25,000 to help raise public awareness of the plight of the nation’s wounded servicemen and women and to provide programs and services to wounded soldiers and their families.

The Floating Hospital received $13,175 to be applied to its ongoing mission of providing healthcare to the homeless. To date, more than five million families in New York City have received assistance.

“e-Cycle was founded on a love of technology and a desire to preserve the environment, and we are grateful that the success of our business gives us the opportunity to assist those in need,” said Tonia Irion, e-Cycle co-founder and President. “Part of our mission is to empower businesses to increase their charitable giving with revenues generated from their wireless asset recovery and recycling programs. We are very proud to partner with Citi, whose commitment to charitable giving and environmental stewardship aligns with our core values.”
