Adapt Courseware Features Professor’s Perspective in Two Insightful Sessions at the Innovations in Online Learning Conference

Rochester, NY – May 13, 2013 – Adapt Courseware, the provider of comprehensive adaptive online curriculum resources that individualize each student’s learning experience, has been selected to lead two sessions at this year’s Innovations in Online Learning (IOL) Conference. Joining Adapt Courseware executive Hank Bowman is Dr. Beverly Carlsen-Landy, who will share her perspective from years of teaching at Texas Women’s College. The two will discuss how the online learning experience can become more engaging through adaptive learning strategies, as well as study results that validate the tremendous impacts which adaptive learning is having on student achievement, re-enrollment, and retention.

“Our growing body of data tells us that when the proper adaptive learning techniques are applied, students are motivated to learn in new and more personal ways, resulting in measurable improvements in student success,” said Bowman, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of Adapt Courseware. “We are looking forward to the opportunity to share our results and exchange ideas with institutional thought leaders and practitioners as they pursue personalized learning solutions and explore the role of adaptive learning in increasing student collaboration, engagement, and productivity.”

“Adapt Courseware’s Design Validation Study and Outcomes” session will include an in-depth review of adaptive learning results, which demonstrate the effectiveness of Adapt Courseware’s approach to individualized learning. The session is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 22nd at 3:00 p.m.

Additionally, “Adaptive Learning: What Would the Best Learning Experience be Like?” will explore ways in which five key design principles improve the ways students engage with content, instructors, and each other. Bowman and Carlsen-Landy will discuss the critical roles that design principles such as effective multimedia, optimal challenge, student choice, mastery learning, and social learning play in delivering a truly individualized and supportive online learning experience. This session is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22nd at 4:00 p.m.

Administrators, faculty, instructional designers, and other educational visionaries from within and beyond the University of Texas System will use the three day event to explore ways in which online learning is rapidly evolving and transforming student learning experiences. Sessions will address the latest best practices, innovative research findings, and future education trends supported by technology. The IOL Conference is being held May 22nd through 24th in San Antonio, TX. Adapt Courseware is a Diamond Sponsor of the event and will be exhibiting in booth #1.
