New expansion will include UCLA students and faculty
VeriFyle, a provider of secure messaging and file sharing, extended its Security for Students offering, which makes the company’s secure cloud communication system available to students and faculty of UCLA at no charge. This program is in response to steps the UC leadership has recently taken to begin monitoring student and faculty web and email activity.
“We feel very strongly that universities should not infringe on the privacy of their students and faculty. This is why we created the Security for Students program, to offer students and teachers free access to the most secure file-sharing and messaging system available,” said Jack Smith, CEO of VeriFyle. “We plan to continue extending this program to additional UC schools in the near future.”

Unlike many other cloud-storage and cloud-sharing services, which use a single master key for encrypting and decrypting their users’ data, VeriFyle’s Cellucrypt technology uses password-derived keys on top of a public-key system to individually encrypt data objects, adding several additional layers of protection for their users. With the additional option to disable password reset, VeriFyle becomes the most secure cloud-sharing platform available, while remaining extremely simple to use.
