Leading communications and marketing firm for education announces new leadership

Edwards & Company Names New Chief

(Brookline, Mass.) Just in time for the school season, brand marketing strategist Maria LaTour Kadison has been named president of Edwards & Company. The Brookline-based firm is a strategic communications and marketing company that works exclusively with education and non-profit institutions. Ms. Kadison takes over day-to-day management from chairman Mark A. Edwards, who is launching Opportunity Nation, a bipartisan, cross-sector national campaign aimed at expanding economic opportunity in the United States.

“We are thrilled that Maria will lead EdwardsCo”, said Mr. Edwards. “She is a smart, thoughtful, experienced strategist who for more than a decade has been a highly sought-after consultant for colleges, universities and independent schools across the country. This is an exciting time for the company.”

Said Ms. Kadison, “Working with Mark at EdwardsCo is like working with an icon – his reputation and work are legendary. One look at his client list, with schools such as Harvard, Yale, Deerfield and Exeter, you know there is no better. I could not be more excited.”

EdwardsCo is one of the nation’s leading marketing and communications firms that works with independent schools, colleges, universities and other not-for-profit institutions. Using its proficiencies in both education/non-profit organization administration and marketing and communications, EdwardsCo helps clients successfully build enrollment, engagement and philanthropy.

Before she joined EdwardsCo, Ms. Kadison worked with senior leadership in education through her consultancy and at Simmons College. As vice president for marketing at Simmons, she led institutional branding, advancement communications and admissions marketing for the undergraduate college and five graduate schools.

In addition, she has won several CASE and other industry awards for brand development and for revamping admissions and advancement communications, multi-channel marketing strategies and industry research and analysis. Her work has yielded measurable results, including doubling student enrollment while achieving record-high, average SAT scores and increasing annual fund participation by 25%.

Ms. Kadison has served on several boards, including The Boston Club; World Challenge Expeditions, where she chaired; and the school committee for her hometown, Dover, Mass.
She holds a BA in economics from Emory University and, as a Yale Fellow, received joint Masters in International Relations and MBA degrees from Yale University.
