Silver Spring, Md. (April 23, 2012) – Discovery Education has announced the launch of Discovery Education Higher Ed, a new digital content service specifically designed for community college instructors and students. Discovery Education has partnered with Chattanooga State Community College and Bossier Parish Community College to bring Discovery Education Higher Ed to classrooms through a pilot program.

“Discovery Education is excited to partner with Chattanooga State Community College and Bossier Parish Community College to bring current, relevant and engaging resources to instructors and students,” said Scott Kinney, senior vice president, Discovery Education. “The partnership demonstrates the schools’ commitment to providing students with resources that will help them develop the skills necessary to enter a competitive workforce.”

“Participating in the pilot program is part of our ongoing efforts to provide teachers and students with current and innovative resources and high-quality content,” said Dr. James Catanzaro of Chattanooga State Community College. “We are excited to be among the first community colleges to use the Discovery Education Higher Ed service in our classrooms.” Chattanooga State Community College will pilot the service in Biology and American History I classes across the campus.

Discovery Education Higher Ed provides curriculum-based, digital content to community colleges across the U.S. to prepare students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be competitive in today’s job market.
