According to a new Symantec report on cyber crime, tens of millions of U.S. computers are loaded with scam security software their owners might have paid for but that only makes the machines more vulnerable, Reuters reports. Cyber thieves are increasingly planting fake security alerts that pop up when computer users access a legitimate web site.
