Follett partners with DubLabs for campus mobile app integration

eFollett integration provides app users convenient, personalized access to course materials

Follett Higher Education Group, a campus store retailer, continues to grow its relationship and total number of integrations with mobile application provider DubLabs. DubLabs helps colleges and universities unify their digital strategies with a customizable mobile app solution for students.

The DubLabs campus mobile app serves as a central access point for a wealth of personalized academic information, such as course schedules, assignments, grades, and in select instances, textbooks. For schools partnering with both Follett and DubLabs, Follett is able to integrate a link in the campus app that gives students one-click access to shop all of their required course materials.

Clicking the Buy Books link in the campus app redirects students to a pre-populated shopping cart on the campus store’s eFollett.com website where they can select from digital, used and text rental options as well as apply financial aid funds, where available.

“Our goal is to meet students where they are and provide a seamless path to purchase the materials needed for academic success,” said Roe McFarlane, Follett Higher Education Group’s chief digital officer. “With this integration and Follett’s broader suite of digital solutions, we’re able to deliver personalized access to shop course materials from the course catalog, student information system, learning management system and now the local campus mobile app.”

This fall, Follett and DubLabs completed several new integrations, launching one-click course material access for more than 100,000 students. Follett also observed strong results for existing integrations like at Bristol Community College. Compared to fall 2015, Bristol Community College Bookstore saw double digit percent increases in both sales and number of orders initiated through the school’s DubLabs app. Bookstore Manager Nathan Read attributes the positive trends to the convenience of shopping online and skipping bookstore lines.

“Forget searching around for materials or waiting in line. Today’s students expect all things to be mobile-centric and easy to use. Integrating with the schools’ eFollett (campus store) website gives students that seamless experience they want and expect,” said Tony Orlando, CEO, DubLabs.
