Texas Association of Community Colleges implements online proctoring

Examity will provide live, recorded and automated proctoring

online-proctoringThe Texas Association of Community Colleges (TACC) has chosen Examity, a leader in exam integrity solutions, to conduct all proctoring for online tests.

Examity will provide live, recorded and automated proctoring for the 50 colleges that compose TACC.

“We are excited to partner with TACC and provide it with the tools needed to preserve the integrity of its online learning program,” said Examity CEO Michael London.

Examity provides around the clock service by professionals fully trained in technical support to ensure higher levels of quality, convenience and customer service. Examity’s comprehensive offerings integrate with numerous learning management systems including Blackboard, Canvas and D2L Brightspace to ensure a greater degree of usability.

“Our cooperative was looking for a partner to provide online proctoring services,” said Charlie Oberrender, CPPB, Director of Cooperative Purchasing for TACC. “Examity offers an exemplary solution to proctor online exams by providing the flexibility, integration and reliability we need.”

Online learning courses increase access to higher education when backed by rigorous standards and exam integrity solutions. Examity helps ensure each student’s mastery of course materials while greatly reducing opportunities for academic dishonesty.

The growth in online education has coincided with demands to maintain its rigor and quality. A 2016 report released this week by the Babson Survey Research Group found that more than 5.8 million students took at least one online course in 2014. Eduventures, a Boston-based education research and advisory firm, predicts that the number of universities and colleges utilizing online proctoring services will double from 1,000 in 2015 to 2,000 in 2016 to cover online degrees, courses and hybrid programs. Examity expects to monitor 40,000 tests per month in 2016.
