Veteran Bookseller and Library Advocate Brings Insight from Four Decades in the Industry
Melville, NY – December 8, 2014 – Ambassador Education Solutions, experts in powering course materials management and delivery for higher education institutions, is excited to welcome Roy Conant as Business Development Manager of its Library Services Division, where he will help libraries improve efficiencies, reliability and convenience. Conant has forged lasting relationships with libraries nationwide, working for reputable book services companies, including his own, for nearly four decades.
“Roy is equally impressive as a person and a bookseller,” said Steven M. Blicht, Chief Operating Officer of Ambassador. “His personable nature and attention to detail coupled with his passion for books, devotion to libraries, and longtime dedication to the book services industry will serve our library clients well. He has a deep understanding of and appreciation for libraries, their offerings and their processes, and will be instrumental in helping our clients seamlessly and cost-effectively build meaningful, relevant collections.”
Conant’s extensive product management and customer relations experience will aid Ambassador’s library clients in the western territory as they look to streamline the selection, ordering, fulfillment and tracking of the book and media titles their users need most. Prior to joining Ambassador, Conant worked for The Book House, Inc. where he partnered with libraries to analyze trends impacting their operations and develop strategic plans to meet their objectives. Previously, he founded the book services company Conant & Conant, which he expanded to support libraries in every western state. He also spent more than a decade at Blackwell North America in a number of roles, including New Titles Operations Manager for Approvals and Standing Orders.
Ambassador’s Library Services are utilized by schools, libraries and other educational institutions in more than 50 countries on five continents. Ambassador connects its library clients to more than 3,000,000 books, over 100,000 eBooks, and 2,000,000 media titles from more than 30,000 sources, including international publishers.
Ambassador’s Library Services team will be exhibiting at the upcoming American Library Association (ALA) Midwinter Conference, which takes place the end of January in Chicago. Attendees can network with the company in its booth (#3429) and learn how to develop and implement a book and media acquisition program that precisely meets their collection goals, publisher preferences and budget.
