InFocus Expands Low-Cost 1080p HD Projector Lineup with Three New Models

New entry-level IN118HDa, short-throw IN118HDSTa and network IN2128HDa projectors match laptops’ 16:9 aspect ratio

PORTLAND, Ore. – Oct. 20, 2014 — With its three just-released low-cost 1080p projectors, collaboration technology pioneer InFocus Corporation (www.InFocus.com) is extending affordable high definition beyond family rooms to conference and classrooms. The new projectors, comprised of the IN118HDa, short-throw IN118HDSTa and networkable IN2128HDa each feature high brightness, Eco Blanking for extended lamp life, HDMI connectivity, are 3D ready and are portable at less than 8 lbs.

“More people are using widescreen laptops with 16:9 aspect ratios at work and school than ever before. But images can look distorted if they’re projected in a different ratio; so we made these HD projectors with the 16:9 to ensure your images look their best,” said Robert Detwiler, product marketing manager at InFocus. “Plus we’ve made them really affordable. Each of these long-lasting projectors delivers the 100+ inch, crisp HD image people want for less than $900; well within most business and classroom budgets.”

The IN118HDa and IN118HDSTa models are nearly identical save for their lumen counts and throw ratios. The IN118HDa is rated for 3000 lumens while the IN118HDSTa is 2700 lumens, and the IN118HDSTa has a short throw lens to project big images from closer to the screen. Both have HDMI, VGA, S-video and composite connectivity options; very high 15000:1 contrast ratios for darker blacks and brighter whites, and up to 10,000-hour lamps.

The IN2128HDa has the same 15000:1 contrast ratio and all the connectivity options of the other new HD projectors but adds network connectivity through a LAN port, a USB port for presenting directly from a thumb drive, optional wireless connectivity and Miracast support for wireless display from mobile devices. For more flexibility, it has two gigabytes of internal memory for presenting common file types without a computer.

Additionally the IN2128HD can become a fully functional interactive projector with the optional LiteBoard adapter radio and LiteBoard Wand. The wand operates as a wireless interactive pen and mouse from away or up close without any calibration.

Each of these 1080p projectors will be available directly from InFocus at www.InFocusStore.com or through InFocus authorized resellers. For product specification details and additional information visit www.InFocus.com.
