About 25 percent of the more than 480,000 U.S. high school students who took the AP exams last year scored a 5, according to national statistics. About 150,000 high school students took the AP statistics test in 2013.

The courses currently have 3,000 students enrolled, but hope for a combined enrollment of 10,000 in the future. Another MOOC will be offered this spring for teachers, “Applying Principles of Behavior in the K-12 Classroom.”

The UH System plans to include dual-enrollment programs between for high school students as they expand their MOOC offerings. They will offer full-year AP Calculus and Statistics MOOCs in 2015.
