Education Technology Veterans Join Helix Education

Helix Education (previously Datamark), a world class provider of student lifecycle technologies and services, has expanded its executive committee to include thought leaders and education technology experts who have decades of experience working for and with colleges and universities. The executive committee will oversee the further development, implementation and support of the company’s solutions, which are designed to help schools more effectively find, enroll, retain and teach students.

“We feel fortunate to have such an accomplished and innovative group of education veterans on our team,” said Matthew Schnittman, president and CEO of Helix Education. “I’m thrilled to be working with some of these talented people again, and have been extremely impressed by the caliber of the entire group. They bring extensive insight and new ideas for ways we can increase educational access and support. They understand the challenges that institutions and students face, and they have the drive to take our solutions and the entire education experience to a higher level.”

Since Schnittman joined Helix Education in late 2013, following long tenures at Pearson eCollege and TopSchool, he has expanded its leadership and collaborated with them to create the company’s new student lifecycle vision. Joining Helix Education and reporting to Schnittman are John Dobbertin, General Manager of Enterprise Services and Platforms, and Carey Hilderbrand, General Manager of Marketing Services. The expanded executive committee also leverages the skills of key personnel from the former company Datamark, as well as those who joined as a result of its Altius Education acquisition.

Dobbertin, an education technology veteran with deep experience leading both technology and services teams, is heading up the operations that support the company’s learning management system and enrollment and retention platforms. He spent more than 15 years at Pearson eCollege, where most recently, he managed the company’s 24/7 technical support, client services, account management, and professional services, as well as its EQUELLA North America and Europe consulting and Thirdway businesses. Previously, John was a teacher in the Atlanta Public Schools system.

Hilderbrand has a wealth of experience in education branding, lead generation, enrollment marketing and retention marketing having held leadership positions at Colorado Technical University and Ultimate Medical Academy. She also previously worked for Datamark and eCollege, providing marketing expertise to some of their largest customer institutions. Most recently, Hilderbrand was vice president of Education Services at Neutron Interactive.

Additionally, numerous development, customer service, account management, operations, sales, and support staff have joined Helix Education over the last several months. They are working out of offices in Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Denver and Toledo.
