Administrators and educators are constantly thinking of new ways technology can help deliver instruction more effectively and enhance the student experience. eCampus News has assembled a list of education “apps” for Apple devices that we think are noteworthy for higher education.
The majority are free, while the others range in price from $0.99 to $4.99.

1. CardMunch, iPhone/iPad/iPod touch, Free
The free iPhone app that turns business cards into contacts. CardMunch is a mobile business card transcription service which captures images of business cards and returns 100% accurate contacts.
2. CultureGPS Lite, iPhone/iPad/iPod touch, Free
CultureGPS Lite helps ease business interactions with internationals by allowing you to analyze visible behavior differences in intercultural encounters and to predict to a certain degree, which interactions evolve when people from different nationalities meet.

3. Dropbox, iPhone/iPad/iPod touch, Free
Need help with organizing? Dropbox allows you to categorize your files and edit documents, automatically add photos, and show off videos from computers, phones, or tablets. Share photos with friends, and collaborate with colleagues like you’re using a single computer. Everything’s automatically private, so you control the settings.
4. Evernote, iPhone/iPad/iTouch, Free
Evernote makes it simple to remember things big and small from your everyday life using your computer, phone, tablet and the web. Create text, photo and audio notes; clip web pages including text, links, and image; and synchronize your notes across your devices.
5. GoodReader, iPad, requires iOS 5.0 or later, $4.99
GoodReader is an excellent top document reader for viewing and navigating large PDF files on an iPhone and iPad. Features include active hyperlinks, which enable users to more easily navigate within the document or launch a linked document or website, PDF Reflow, and powerful file management. A great app for reviewing scholarly articles.
6. LinkedIn, iPhone/iPad/iPod touch, requires iOS 6.0 or later, Free
The new LinkedIn app makes it even easier for professionals to communicate and network online. LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional online network with over 225 million members. Launched in 2003, LinkedIn features executives from all Fortune 500 companies as members.
7. Ted, iPhone/iPad/iPod touch, Free
Watch TEDTalks from international experts with subtitles in over 90 languages directly on your mobile device. With more than 1,400 TEDTalk videos uploaded weekly, this app is a terrific tool to stimulate engagement in the classroom.
