Lincoln, Neb. (Dec. 18, 2013) – Inceptia, a division of NSLP, announced today that Tri-County Technical College, a public, two-year community college serving students in the South Carolina counties of Anderson, Oconee and Pickens, has selected Inceptia to continue providing their students with online financial education, grace counseling and default prevention outreach.
Tri-County Technical College provides online and distance learning courses in a variety of career fields giving students a career-focused education with the convenience of being close to home. By taking proactive steps to alleviate any financial pressures students may experience while working or raising a family and going to school, Tri-County Technical College is providing students with resources to manage their finances, understand repayment and prevent student loan default.
“At Tri-County Technical College, we are committed to our students’ success. Not only are we focused on helping students plan for their education and earn academic credentials, but we’re also dedicated to guiding our students as they move into the workforce and begin repaying their student loans,” said Sarah Dowd, director of financial aid. “Our partnership with Inceptia allows us to provide exceptional support to our student borrowers that will help them plan for success and work toward achieving their financial goals.”
Tri-County Technical College students will benefit from Inceptia’s online financial education program, Financial Avenue. Based on the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s financial education core competencies, this program thoroughly covers the subjects students need to succeed financially. Students will learn money management basics from budgeting, credit cards and banking to more complex subjects like contracts, taxes and investing. All the online courses and mini-modules are designed to give students confidence in dealing with their personal finances.
With grace counseling outreach, Tri-County Technical College students will receive guidance during their grace period from Inceptia’s highly trained counselors on what to expect when repayment begins. Students will gain an understanding of their rights and responsibilities, various repayment options, as well as receive guidance in solving potential financial issues.
With default prevention outreach, student loan borrowers will receive one-on-one counseling from Inceptia’s highly trained counselors to resolve their delinquent student loan accounts so they can get back on track for repayment.
“We are pleased Tri-County Technical College has put their trust in Inceptia to help provide their student borrowers the tools they need to successfully repay their student loans,” said Inceptia President and CEO Randy Heesacker. “By offering their students financial education and student outreach services, Tri-County Technical College is helping to build a strong financial foundation for their students’ future.”
