Adapt Courseware and Central Piedmont Present First-Hand Professor’s Perspective of Adaptive Learning

Session at eQuake Conference Features Innovative Approach to Help Instructors Engage and Motivate Students

Rochester, NY – September 16, 2013 – Adapt Courseware, the provider of comprehensive adaptive online curriculum resources that individualize each student’s learning experience, has teamed up with an instructor from Central Piedmont Community College to present “Adaptive Learning in Action: A Professor’s Perspective” at this year’s NC3ADL eQuake Conference. Stephanie Sabbagh, who teaches Psychology, and Hank Bowman, an executive at Adapt Courseware, will provide a first-hand look at how professors are able to enhance the academic experience for their students using adaptive learning strategies.

The session will explore specific ways adaptive learning has enabled professors to focus more time on interaction and motivation; gain increased visibility into student performance; better understand student learning styles; dissect the effectiveness of content; ease administrative tasks; and provide a higher level of personalized support. Discussion will also include research data and results that demonstrate improved outcomes when specific adaptive learning principles are applied.

Adapt Courseware is also exhibiting at the conference, talking to educators about the key instructional design principles of its adaptive learning courseware and the results of its adaptive learning validation studies. The Adapt Courseware team will also be available to talk about its Adaptive Learning Research Grant Program, whereby schools can apply for multiple year-long grants of up to $40,000 to examine adaptive learning principles in large-scale online and flipped classroom implementations.

The three day event is chock full of in-depth workshops, thought provoking speakers, and networking opportunities, all designed to inspire new and collaborative ways to take the online learning experience to the next level. Attendees will also have some fun during the evening events, where Bowman and his bluegrass band, The Outliers, are headlining Monday night. NC3ADL, which takes place at the Raleigh Convention Center from September 29th through October 1st, draws a crowd of distance learning educators across North Carolina’s 58 community colleges, as well as universities and K-12 districts.
