Symplicity Announces Horizons 2013 Summer Update

ARLINGTON, Va., August 28, 2013 — Symplicity, a leading provider of cloud-based solutions for higher education, today released the summer update of Horizons, a comprehensive study abroad management platform designed to manage and streamline every aspect of the study abroad process, international exchange, and all types of student travel.

Among the main features of the summer release is the new Provider Portal. This standalone, cloud-based system will house programs sponsored by third-party providers, offering students thousands of additional study and travel program options. Horizons administrators are able to view and select which programs they want displayed and used in their system.

Symplicity also released a new Survey module, which is now distinct from application-based pre- and post-trip surveys. The new Survey module allows staff to easily create optional or mandatory surveys for all or specific students to complete before traveling. Administrators can post surveys in the student view, their Horizons homepage, or create a website link, which can all be completed by the student or others without logging into the system.

Several new Invoicing and Payment enhancements were also introduced in the update. Administrators can now create and edit payment plans, and link them to specific programs or groups of programs. Staff can also setup simple payment steps in application forms, making the payment process easier and more efficient for both students and staff.

Additional batch options were also added in the system. Scholarship batch options let administrators set multiple scholarship application statuses, while recommender batch options give staff the ability to batch mail from the recommendation list, permitting them to send a variety of communication to recommenders.

In the new Event List view, staff can now configure events to appear on the non-logged in view of Horizons, allowing for easy event promotion to students.

Other noteworthy enhancements to the system include single sign-on (SSO) authentication on the manager interface, improved application search filter, incident reporting enhancements, and time zone selection for students.

Symplicity is thrilled to offer Horizons to study abroad offices of varying levels of size and budget. For more information about Horizons, or to schedule an online demonstration, please contact our Sales team or visit http://www.symplicity.com/horizons-study-abroad-software.
