How One School Is Saving Thousands of Dollars in Captioning Services for Online Learning

[1]State and federal disability laws require California colleges to include closed captioning in all electronic content. This can be costly for schools posting lecture video online, as the San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) recently found when it paid more than $7,000 to caption video for just two online courses. But then SDCCD discovered Camtasia Relay, screencasting software that automatically generates captions for videos when users send content to their server. Camtasia Relay allows SDCCD to make videos for online courses easily, while staying compliant with disability requirements—and all within a tight budget.
