BRETFORD INTRODUCES EXPLORE TEAMING TABLE FOR SCHOOLS AND BUSINESSES

Affordable, Intuitive Platform for Working in Small Groups; Part of New Bretford Library 2.0 Line of Furniture; Shown First at TCEA, Currently Available for Order

CHICAGO — February 6, 2013 — Bretford Manufacturing, Inc.®, a United States manufacturer of technology-enabled furniture for agile learning and business environments, today introduced the EXPLORE™ Teaming Table for schools and businesses. A highlight to the new Bretford Library 2.0™ Line of furniture for the modern digital media center, the new teaming table is an affordable, intuitive small group collaborative table with a large monitor at one end, which allows up to five students to easily connect and share the screen content on their laptops or other mobile devices. The EXPLORE Teaming Table will be shown for the first time in the Bretford booth (#2365) this week at TCEA 2013, Feb. 6-8 in Austin, Texas. It is currently available for order with a 20-business day lead time.

The EXPLORE Teaming Table is ideal for use in education: for the school library in group collaborative areas, small group study rooms, student lounges and non-traditional study areas or classrooms for breakout sessions. It can also be used in a business setting as a meeting table and a platform for presentations to small groups.

“The desire for more teamwork and collaboration among students is universal across all grade levels as well as in corporate settings but the selection of teaming tables on the market are just too expensive for many schools and businesses,” according to Dave Smith, product manager for Bretford Manufacturing, Inc. “The Bretford Teaming Table is about a quarter of the cost, which puts the technology within reach as an affordable, collaborative work solution.”

In addition, the EXPLORE Teaming Table goes back to the basics by offering a simple cabled design that can be easily changed as the technology evolves. “IT professionals constantly face the challenge of keeping up with the technology,” said Smith. “The Bretford Teaming Table makes it easy to support multiple connection types at the same time by simply changing out the cables as updates hit the market and old connection styles become obsolete.”

Each EXPLORE Teaming Table supports flat panel monitors up to 42 inches, weighing 30 pounds or less using a VESA mounting hole pattern up to 200mm x 200mm. The monitor mount features left/right positioning as well as an up/down swivel for optimal viewing. The new table also includes a Bretford Fluid Up Power System, which enables multiple devices to power from a single outlet without the clutter of power strips or the expense of hardwiring, thereby keeping the table surface clutter-free. It provides two standard outlets and two USB power outlets above the work surface for easy charging of personal mobile devices. At the same time, cables are easily managed via a security grommet located in the center of the table, supporting multiple cables that may be pulled out for easy connection with a device. Also included is a steel cable system that supports a micro-slot security cable to lock devices to the table and prevent theft if the group needs to step away for any period of time.

About the Library 2.0 Line
Targeted for the K-12 and higher education libraries, student commons as well as public library settings, the Library 2.0 line includes the enhancement of Bretford’s traditional library offering with the addition of technology-enabled seating, tables and desks that are both powered and mobile so places, people and information can move while still staying connected. Along with the furniture, Bretford is also providing a new Library Specification Guide that offers all the information needed to completely re-outfit a library. The combination of the products and guide give architects, designers and facility planners everything they need to update a library through a single source.

The Library 2.0 line was created using “Bretford Evidence-Based Practices” that involve the voice of the customer. Every product in the line is agile so as the room changes, it adapts; mobile because it fits, works and moves together; technology-enabled for easy access to power and data; social for interaction; and sustainable for a healthier learning environment.
