University of Maryland Calls on Experts Vivantech and Navigator to Implement its Kuali Financial System

San Diego, CA (October 9, 2012) – Vivantech (vivantech.com), a premier Kuali Commercial Affiliate, today announced that the University of Maryland hired the team of Vivantech and Navigator Management Partners (NMP) to support them with its implementation of the Kuali Financial System (KFS) 5.x. The university chose the Kuali system and this experienced implementation team to help replace its current Financial Record System (FRS) with general ledger, financial transactions, purchasing and accounts payable, and capital asset management modules that are more agile and adaptive to the changes in its business practices and organizational hierarchies.

As part of the project with Maryland, the Vivantech-NMP team will assist in the migration of the legacy data from the current system to KFS and will manage the project until completion. The project planning phase, as well as the evaluation of current systems and processes has begun, and the full implementation of the Kuali Financial System is expected for July 1, 2013.

With their decision to implement KFS, the University of Maryland joins a long list of universities that are choosing license-free community source enterprise software designed by universities, for universities.
