Kaplan K12 Learning Services Designated an Approved Vendor by The Cooperative Purchasing Network

New York, NY (July 12, 2012) – Kaplan K12 has received approved vendor status by The Cooperative Purchasing Network (TCPN), a national governmental purchasing cooperative that contracts on behalf of K-12 schools, local governments, colleges, universities, and nonprofit organizations in all 50 states. The agreement with Kaplan includes test preparation offerings, programs for pre-college exams, and online standards-based curriculum and professional development resources.

Kaplan’s offerings for schools and districts include test readiness options for state tests, the PSAT, SAT, ACT and Advanced Placement exams, skill building options to deepen students’ knowledge of key content, and admissions planning programs to guide students through the college admissions process. Programs can be delivered online, by a school or district’s own teachers, or by Kaplan instructors. Kaplan’s Teach!® Strategies & Resources, an online toolkit to support teachers as the new Common Core State Standards and academic benchmarks shift from policy to practice, has been recognized as the top Curriculum Development program in the “Teacher Tools” category by The ComputED Gazette’s 2012 Best Education Software Awards (BESSIE Awards). Kaplan’s ACT On Demand course also has been recognized as the “Top High School Test Preparation Website” in the 2012 BESSIE Awards.

“Partnering with Kaplan, one of the nation’s most innovative education providers, enables public agencies to equip even more students with the skills that they need to be successful in life,” said Chris Penny, Vice President of Sales for TCPN. “We are looking forward to leveraging this offering with the over 28,000 public agencies that are already active members of TCPN.”

“As an approved TCPN vendor, we’re pleased to facilitate easier access for K-12 schools and districts nationwide to our teacher tools and pre-college prep and state test readiness programs,” said Mark Freidberg, VP and General Manager, Kaplan K12 Learning Services. “By enabling schools to benefit from our nearly 75 years of experience in helping students succeed on high-stakes exams, Kaplan can help further the goal of college readiness and post-secondary success for all.”
