eCampus of the Month: Salisbury University enables learning on the go

Maryland’s Salisbury University has created a 10,000-port wired network and a wireless network with 700 access points to provide full coverage campus wide. The university has implemented software from PeopleSoft and Blackboard to streamline business processes and extend learning beyond the classroom. Mostly importantly, it has managed and promoted a culture of change in the classroom and the workplace.

New educational app lets users annotate files

A Maryland high school math teacher has launched an educational app for the iPad that allows students to add their own notes and markups to instructors’ Word, PDF, and PowerPoint files without the need to convert those files to another format.

Colleges tap technology to prevent ‘burnout’ in nursing students

Relentless stress of on-the-job training and the looming specter of licensure examination have taken a toll on nursing students nationwide—a problem nursing school chiefs hope can be solved with an online program that tracks student progress.
