Vernier’s ‘Advanced Physics with Vernier – Mechanics’ Named a Finalist in the 2012 AEP Awards

Lab book recognized in Supplemental Resources: Science category of Distinguished Achievement Awards

BEAVERTON, Oregon, May 8, 2012 – Vernier Software & Technology’s Advanced Physics with Vernier – Mechanics lab book, written by Larry Dukerich, was recently named a finalist in the 2012 Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) Distinguished Achievement Awards (DAA). Honoring the best in a range of product types and resources used by teachers, parents, and students, the DAAs recognized Vernier’s lab book in the Supplemental Resources category under Science.

Delving into the various principles of mechanics, the Advanced Physics with Vernier – Mechanics lab book offers a set of experiments for higher-level introductory physics courses such as college physics, Advanced Placement (AP®*) Physics, or International Baccalaureate** (IB) Physics. Covering a wide range of topics – motion, Newton’s laws, momentum, energy, and simple harmonic motion – the Advanced Physics with Vernier – Mechanics lab book contains 19 experiments that are conducted using a combination of commonly used lab equipment and Vernier sensors and hardware.

“With the Advanced Physics with Vernier – Mechanics lab book, physics students can learn key principles of mechanics through engaging inquiry-style investigations,” said David Vernier, co-founder of Vernier Software & Technology and a former physics teacher. “We are honored to be recognized by the Association of Educational Publishers.”
