Previous attempts to keep a constant eye on computers, laptops, mobile devices, and web-connected video game consoles at Kutztown proved difficult to manage, leaving gaps in protecting the school’s IT infrastructure.
Eber said the ForeScout CounterACT system provides a quick rundown of any mobile device that might threaten campus IT security.
“If I see a device that has a problem, such as a student using an unprotected personal wireless access point, I can simply right-click and send an eMail notification directly to the student,” he said.
