Facebook to start sharing AMBER Alerts


Facebook has teamed up with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Department of Justice and the Virginia State Police to make it easier to spread news about abducted children, reports the Washington Post. Representatives from the social network announced their plan to make AMBER Alert bulletins available to users online by region. Users can subscribe to the bulletins and share them across their personal networks. According to a news release from Facebook, administrators have created 53 new AMBER Alert Pages–one for each state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands…
