Google has rolled back the curtain on a secret project codenamed "Caffeine," focused on building a new iteration of its leading internet search engine, AFT reports. "For the last several months, a large team of Googlers has been working on a secret project: a next-generation architecture for Google’s web search," Google engineers Sitaram Iyer and Matt Cutts said in an official blog post. "It’s the first step in a process that will let us push the envelope on size, indexing speed, accuracy, comprehensiveness, and other dimensions." Anyone can try the new search technology online at The new search page looks identical to the classic Google web page in terms of its interface. "The new infrastructure sits ‘under the hood’ of Google’s search engine, which means that most users won’t notice a difference in search results," the engineers wrote.
