The Tampa Bay Business Journal reports that the tablet computer rumored to be in development by Apple Inc. will resemble a large iTouch and will cost about $600, an analyst said Aug. 7. Piper Jaffray Senior Research Analyst Gene Munster even went so far as to forecast that it will sell about 2 million units and bring Apple about $1.2 billion in revenue next year. The speculation is based on information he received from an unnamed Asian component supplier that is working with Apple on the product. Munster said he expects the tablet would have a 3G modem and "would offer best-in-class web, eMail, and media software. In other words, we believe Apple’s tablet would compete well in the netbook category, even though it would not be a netbook."
