Microsoft on Oct. 14 appointed its first education general to lead the technology giant’s push to get its software into the hands of students and teachers, AFP reports. Michael Golden is filling the newly created post of vice president of Microsoft’s Education Products Group as the company increases its attention on schools and colleges, where rival Apple has long promoted its Macintosh computers.
