Ohio Wesleyan University has selected the S360 Recruit platform from Evolution Labs, which provides a revolutionary experience to prospective students in the college application process. S360 Recruit enables colleges to immerse interested students in a highly engaging web and mobile-based experience designed to foster a meaningful affinity between student and school, thereby driving the student to apply. HBX, Harvard Business School‘s digital learning initiative, is launching a new online certificate program, Negotiation Mastery: Unlocking Value in the Real World. This program prepares participants to close deals that might otherwise be deadlocked, maximize value creation in agreements they reach, and resolve differences before they escalate into costly conflicts. Negotiation Mastery: Unlocking Value in the Real World emphasizes the preparation of both “head and heart” before entering a negotiation. That includes both analytical tools and interpersonal techniques for dealing effectively with a different bargaining styles and tactics. Read more.

The Online Learning Consortium (OLC) announced the expansion of its Quality Scorecard suite, with the addition of three new scorecards. The OLC Quality Scorecard uses research-based benchmarks and standards of excellence to help higher education institutions evaluate their online and blended learning programs. Institutions use the scorecard to determine strengths and opportunities for improvement of their programs, and to initiate planning efforts to address areas that require enhancement. Read more.

The Center for Integrated Design in the College of Fine Arts at The University of Texas at Austin, founded earlier this year to bring design thinking into the core of the UT undergraduate curricula, is expanding its course offering to include three new microcredit courses that will count toward the Bridging Disciplines Program in Integrated Design. Cengage and Practice Labs announced the integration of live virtual machine labs into MindTap, Cengage’s flagship digital learning platform. The integration will prepare students to succeed in the high demand field of computer and information technology, where employment is projected to grow 12 percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations. Practice Labs is integrated directly into MindTap. This allows students to work with live servers and networking hardware from their web browser without leaving the MindTap platform. This hands-on practice helps students develop and master skills that are immediately transferable to the workforce. Read more.
