Expanding its Reach for the New School Year, StudySync to Provide Popular Web-Based Common Core Curriculum on Learning.com Marketplace

SONOMA, Calif. and PORTLAND, Ore. (October 1, 2012) – Kicking off the new school year with a major expansion of its outreach to educators, StudySync (www.studysync.com), the web-based Common Core curriculum from BookheadEd Learning, LLC, announced today that it is now live on the Learning.com Marketplace.

The company made the announcement at EdNET 2012, the 24th annual educational networking conference, under way in Baltimore through October 2.

Learning.com’s Marketplace helps teachers find, buy and use the best digital teaching resources available. The Learning.com Marketplace gives teachers a single online destination to find, organize, assign and track students’ progress with effective digital content that is safe and aligned to their state standards. Teachers can also organize and use the digital resources to which they already have access, as well as resources from a growing list of educational publishers, all within the Marketplace. StudySync already reaches tens of thousands students in the U.S and Canada.

“Our mission is to connect quality content with teachers and their students, which is why we’re so pleased to partner with StudySync, the multiple award-winning platform for secondary school classrooms,” said Anita Kopec, interim chief executive officer of Learning.com. “StudySync is dedicated to helping students develop the critical thinking skills they need to succeed in a digital world. In our Reading and Writing category, StudySync ranks as an important addition to the Learning.com Marketplace for this new school year.”

StudySync is available to teachers in grades six through twelve. An informative product demo/preview enables instructors to quickly gain an understanding of how the product works.

“The Learning.com Marketplace is a valuable resource for teachers, providing StudySync with an excellent opportunity to showcase our dynamic learning application,” said Robert Romano, CEO, BookheadEd Learning. “StudySync brings to life a broad array of fiction and nonfiction texts, engaging students with a media-rich experience and advancing collaborative learning through video lessons, online writing and peer review – precisely the sort of curriculum that educators need in the classroom as they move to implement the Common Core Standards.”

An innovative, web‐delivered academic tool, StudySync was created by leading national educators with the goal of inspiring higher levels of critical thinking and academic collaboration. Aligned to the Common Core State Standards, StudySync targets middle and high school students, enlisting broadcast-quality video, digital media, mobile platforms and social learning to advance students’ reading, writing and critical thinking abilities.

Flexible and easy‐to‐navigate, StudySync places control fully in the hands of the educator, enabling teachers to integrate the product into their current classroom curriculum any way they see fit. Teachers can, for example, customize the experience by using StudySync lessons in sequence as a complete unit or assigning individual components to supplement existing lesson plans; the teacher can track progress and make assessments at any time. StudySync is also intended to be used across disciplines – for language arts classrooms and for science, social studies, history and other subject areas as well.
