Highlands Ranch, CO – December 7, 2010 – Doug Kelsall, CEO of ESM, has joined the Arizona State University Education Innovation Network Advisory Board. Kelsall and other thought leaders will work to create a hub that will provide education innovators with the resources, connections and support to positively impact students and improve learning outcomes, as well as help shape the future of the education landscape.
The goals of the Education Innovation Network are to nurture innovation, enhance the impact of education as an economic and societal driver, and grow the network to increase excellence and access. The group aims to address the following questions:
How do we educate in a rapidly changing world?
How do we focus information and technology to produce meaningful change?
“We are thrilled that Doug is joining our Advisory Board – he brings a tremendous amount of insight from both his years spent on the forefront of online learning and his leadership role in supporting students across the education lifecycle,” said Michael Moe, co-chairman of the ASU Education Innovation Network Advisory Board. “We look forward to leveraging Doug’s expertise as we work to advance opportunities in education.”
The Education Innovation Network represents the only business cluster in the United States focused on entrepreneurship in the education innovation space. The advisory board is made up of a diverse group of investors, educational institutions, ASU education leaders, charter school representatives, leading educational technology companies, and startups from around the country. The organization provides members with a platform to engage with others to discuss trends, share ideas and learn from each other.
“I’m excited to be part of this group of leading-edge thinkers,” said Kelsall. “There are so many opportunities to enhance the educational experience both in the classroom and beyond, making lifelong learning opportunities possible for more people. As we look at the trends in programs, delivery models and demand, the Education Innovation Network will play an important role in helping the industry meet the needs of students and graduates.”
The Advisory Board’s first meeting took place on Friday, November 19, 2010 at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center. For additional information on the Education Innovation Network, please visit: http://edinnovation.asu.edu/.
